It’s My Boy Jack in the Southwest Stakes

My Boy Jack surprised almost everyone in the Southwest Stakes, sneaking in on the inside down the stretch to pull out a 4 1/2 length victory.

The favorite, Mourinho, set a fast early pace, mainly because he was being challenged by Road to Damascus. Mourinho managed to pull away by a length at the far turn but was being chased by a crowd of horses, including Combatant, Sporting Chance and My Boy Jack.

As Mourinho struggled to keep the lead, My Boy Jack, riding on the rail, blew past everyone, even surviving a bump by Mourinho as he passed him. Combatant finished second, followed by Sporting Chance and Mourinho.

My Boy Jack earned 10 points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby.
