El Areeb Romps in Jerome

El Areeb played with the rest of the field Saturday, taking charge into the far turn and running away with the Grade 3 Jerome Stakes by a whopping 10 lengths.

The favorite, Takaful, took the early lead but El Areeb never let him get more than 3/4 of a length ahead. He pushed Takaful down the backstretch, then made his move entering the far turn with ease, stretching his lead to three lengths in a matter of seconds. Takaful was pushed too hard and finished last.

El Areeb quickly distanced himself from the rest of the pack, crossing the wire 10 lengths ahead of Bonus Points. True Timber finished third.
