Three Rules Dominates in Florida Sire

Three Rules continued his dominance of 2-year-olds Saturday, winning his third straight race  in the Florida Sire Stakes, a six-length winner over Blessed Halo.

Three Rules broke cleanly and stalked the 70-1 longshot Awesome Standard, one-half length behind. As the field entered the final turn, Cornelio Velasquez let out a notch in the reins, and Three Rules quickly established a one-and-a-half length lead.

Entering the homestretch, Three Rules simply exploded in front of the field for no reason; he had no horse challenging him, but he quickly lengthened his lead to four lengths; by the time he went under the wire, he was six lengths ahead of Blessed Halo. The time for the six-furlong race was a speedy 1:09.49.

Front Loaded finished third.
