Horse Racing Nation is keeping an eye on the 2-year-olds, and they have a new crop to keep your eye on. They include:
- Bitumen, who won his maiden handily on June 30. HRN called him “a fantastic debut by a colt that’s bred to stretch out.”
- Random Walk, a horse bred for sprints but could develop nicely, won his maiden by 5 3/4 lengths in a race that was only 5 furlongs long. That was good enough for a Beyer Speed Figure of 90, better than most 3-year-olds were able to post this year.
- Take Charge Tapit, which of course is a son of Tapit, has yet to race but has breezed impressively and is trained by D. Wayne Lukas. Look for his debut soon.
